Mike first moved to Boundary County in 1998, raising his family here, and has worked in social services in some form or fashion for more than 25 years in the Pacific Northwest, from elder service coordinator and foster home certifier to home health care provider and medical transportation (NEMT) vendor for 10 years.

North Country Transport’s back office includes family members and concerned citizens who are interested in ensuring that North Country Transport is equipped to satisfy the needs of our valued seniors/disabled and their families.

As more and more of us become qualified as senior citizens, the need will continue to increase for enhanced transportation services. In addition, as our beautiful area continues to attract new residents, the need for specialized transportation will continue to grow, and North Country Transport stands prepared to welcome these challenges and ready to rise to meet them!

Our mission

North Country Transport is dedicated to providing support to our elders and disabled community members so that they are able to continue to live in their community of choice, and can continue to enjoy our rural small town atmosphere in Far North Idaho. If you want to continue living in the rural community you know and love, you should be able to do so, even with the limitations that age and disability may bring.

Adding to the wonderful supportive resources in our community, North Country Transport provides a wheelchair accessible transportation solution for those in need of door to door medical transport, as well as transportation to the Spokane International Airport, social activities, recreational events, shopping and more.

Our vision

Robust community services are a powerful tool in support of our rural lifestyle, particularly for our elders and disabled, so with a strong network of church and community support, along with increased availability of wheelchair equipped transportation, our community has a good foundation from which to support our families with disabled and elderly family members, which in the future will touch us all.

We believe that our family members should not be forced to move away from their community when they develop extra needs due to disability or age. Support services become more important as our needs increase, from transportation to rural assisted living residential homes. As our communities grow older, we will need to find new ways to meet their needs effectively, helping them maintain their quality of life. We embrace this challenge!

Our team

Our strength lies in our community. We saw the need to offer a wheelchair accessible transportation service to serve those in our rural community who desire to stay local while still being able to access medical services and facilities elsewhere without being forced to move away from family and friends. With North County Transport, access to recreational and social and medical activities is now increased for those who are unable to drive.
